the houseboat at Nigeen Lake. Tucked between the mountains, the lake water
reflecting the orche sky will remind you of the heaven Khusro redefined. We
will have a hot lunch and head for local sightseeing.

mosque has been subject to severe damage due to fire. The magnificent

local market is also known for their handicraft which is worth checking. We
will visit Maharani temple and Maharaja Hari Singh Palace. For a brief
introduction, Maharaja Palace was once the royal palace of King Ranbir Singh
of Kashmir. It must have been grand once upon a time but now what remains
is merely a building beaten by time; with remnants of a glorious time on
display inside. The Shiva temple also known as “Rani Temple” or “Maharani
Temple”, is situated on a small hillock in the centre of Gulmarg. The temple
became famous when bollywood number “Jai Jai Shiva Shanker” was shot
here in early 1970s featuring Rajesh Khanna.
